Hans Kim, a 3rd year Industrial Design Student says:
"Immaterialize
We are a group of third year industrial design students at Victoria University. In our project, the immaterializer, we aim to explore a new type of 3d printing and redefine the term "digital craft". The immaterializer is a 3d printer that uses light to bring virtual entities into the physical realm.
We have created a technique called animatography, where a 3d model or a series of models can be projected into space then captured in a photograph NOT a CG image. The immaterializer provides a exciting new way to materialize digital objects, as well as many opportunities for creative and artistic ventures.
We are seeking 2-3 digital craftsman or artists of all abilities who are interested in collaborating with our group to design an exhibition that will be run on the 25th of July. This is a great opportunity for artists who want to display their work in a public space, as well as become one of the first in the world to experiment with this new way of seeing.
